In addition dramaperks will respond to requests to create specific courses and workshops to meet your needs , either for your school or business or for a wider audience .
Contact us – it is probably not as expensive to create a specific course or workshop as you may think.
We come to you and will work with you, your students, your colleagues from local schools or businesses or a combination of these options.
This one day course will be led by Alan Perks and Jacqueline Porteous, at a venue to be announced and will provide an invaluable insight into the demands of the new A2 Year and what we as teachers should be doing to prepare for it.
Unit 3 and Unit 4 will be placed in the context of the whole specification and our aim on this day will be to share ideas with you from both an examiner and a teacher perspective.
Fee: £150, to include refreshments and course notes.

A ONE-DAY COURSE FOR TEACHERS
Dates and venues to be announced – or we come to you.
AIMS: This One Day Course has been especially devised to support the development and structuring of the AS Year of the new specification from Edexcel and to give practical solutions to a range of frequently asked questions at this stage in the planning.
Presenters: This will be a unique opportunity to spend a day working with Alan Perks and Jacqueline Porteous. As two of the senior examining team who are also teaching the specification, Alan and Jacqueline are well placed to offer a detailed breakdown of practical and rewarding approaches to the assessment criteria of the AS Year and to connect current teaching into the demands of the examination structure. Places are limited so early booking is advisable.
Fee: £150 to include course notes and all refreshments.
Centre delivery: £250 + travel


FULL DAY
The session on Unit 5 will look at:
- the assessment criteria in relation to the intentions of the piece
- approaches to the text that are imaginative and accessible for performers and examiner
- the role of the examiner and what the expectation are
- engaging with your examiner before the day
- engaging with your examiner on the day
- communication in performance
The session on unit 6 will look at:
- preparing the text for Section A
- rehearsal techniques – appropriate and why
- concepts and interpretations – what you may feel is appropriate, and what your examiner will be looking for
- structuring responses to the questions in the space allowed
- Preparing for Section B as an informed member of the audience with the questions in mind
- Making historical connections and balancing the response
The Whole Day option:
2 x 2 hour sessions with students
1 x 1 hour with staff (if required)

The half day option:
A 2 hour session with students on either unit 5 or unit 6
A 1 hour session with staff ( if required)
Fee: £150 + travel.

This one day workshop is for students preparing for Unit 6 of the Edexcel specification for the final series and will take them through the demands of the unit, with particular reference to how to access the questions and engage the examiner.
The day is divided into three sections with each one centred around one of the questions in the paper.
It is intensive revision, but also an opportunity to clarify what is really being asked for in the examination.
Fee: £200 plus travel for the full day (up to 5 hours in your school or college)

This lively mix of practical activities and clear examples guides Sixth Form students through a series of exercises and scenarios that enable them a balance the pressures they face as they approach important decisions at this crucial stage in their education. The day includes approaches to healthy living and stress-free study, within a structure designed to enable effective strategies for time management to be put in place.

Workshop Length and Fee: 4 hours £400 plus expenses
Primarily designed for a group of up to 20 Year 7 and/or Year 8 students this is a 10 day course which employs a range of strategies and agencies in working with students who are at high risk of non-attendance through disaffection and low self-esteem.
Our team will work with the agencies who are normally involved in the school to prepare a series of activities within a connecting structure to encourage attendance and involvement.
Who: staff and students on a 10 day programme plus staff planning time
Where: in your school but in a space dedicated for the 10 days
Group Size: up to 20
Workshop Length and Fee: 10 days £3,000 plus expenses
This whole day course is divided into a series of activities that focus on those students at GCSE who are predicted to achieve around the D/C border. It is a lively mix of practical examples of how to focus on raising achievement and encouraging students to want to raise the game and raise the grade.
Who: students in Year 11 who are on the D/C border in a range of subjects
